Somatic Psychotherapy

Somatic Psychotherapy is a body-oriented, evidence-informed approach that recognises the deep connection between the mind and body in shaping how we experience and respond to emotional challenges.

By working with both thoughts and physical sensations, Somatic Psychotherapy helps individuals process unresolved experiences that may be stored in the body.

It can be especially helpful for those experiencing:
• Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Anxiety and chronic stress
• Depression with physical symptoms
• Dissociation
• Chronic pain or fatigue linked to emotional distress
• Emotional regulation difficulties
• Unresolved grief or loss

Through gentle techniques like breathwork, body awareness, movement, grounding, and mindful tracking of physical sensations, Somatic Psychotherapy allows clients to safely reconnect with their bodies, process trauma, and release patterns of tension or suppression.

At Evolving Minds Counselling, our therapists are trained in Somatic Psychotherapy and trauma-informed care. We create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore the body's wisdom and build greater awareness, regulation, and resilience.

If you often feel stuck in your head or overwhelmed by physical symptoms without a clear cause, Somatic Psychotherapy may help you reconnect with yourself and heal from the inside out.
